Will April make the top 10 list for Phoenix temperatures?
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — It’s certainly been a warm April, but how close are we to making the top 10 list in Phoenix? Through April 23rd, this year is ranked number 11 for temperatures, so it’s close!

Notice in the graphic above that 2017 and 2014 are tied for 9th place, which kicks 2025 into 11th place.
What are the chances that April will finish in the top 10? The graphic below shows stats for the entire month of April. This year’s rank is questionable because we still have about a week left in April.

If April finishes in the top 10, the average will need to increase from 74.3 degrees to 75.3 degrees. Based on our 7-day forecast, we probably won’t quite make it to the top 10 by the end of the month.
Either way, the month will likely finish warmer than the 30-year April normal of 73.2. So, if your AC bill seems slightly higher than a typical April, it’s probably not your imagination. It doesn’t take a top-10 finish to produce a lot of warm days in April.
