Easter Sunday weather can be quite extreme in the Phoenix area
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Do you remember last Easter? It occurred on March 31, 2024, when it rained in the Valley, snowed in the mountains, and even closed parts of I-40! The rainfall added up to a healthy 0.50 inches in Phoenix, but that was not a record.
The record rainfall on Easter Sunday in Phoenix is 1.19 inches from March 26, 1989.

How common is Easter rain? It’s only rained a trace or more on 12 out of 129 Easters on record.
Since Easter has a wide range on the calendar of when it actually falls, the weather records also have a wide range! The record warmest temperature in Phoenix on Easter is 100 degrees on April 15, 1990!

The coldest Easters on record are tied. In 1910 and 1921, Easter occurred on March 27, with a low temperature of 41 degrees!

The forecast for this Easter Sunday looks anything but extreme! The forecast is shows low 80s, which is quite pleasant for mid-April.
However, there is still some uncertainty in that part of the forecast. The Easter Sunday temperature could trend warmer or cooler depending on the track of a late-week disturbance that will move into the southwest. Stay tuned for updates!
