Phoenix measures above normal for March rainfall despite overall dry conditions
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — March has been the exception to the dry weather that has ruled most of the year in the Valley.
In 2025, only 5 days have recorded measurable precipitation at Sky Harbor in Phoenix.

You will notice that most of the rain this year fell on March 7 and March 11. The “*” symbol is next to March 12 because that number will change if additional rain falls at Sky Harbor, although that is unlikely.
For the year, Phoenix is running below normal for rainfall. Not including the unofficial 0.07 inches Wednesday, there has been 0.54″ of rainfall this year. Normally, we would have 2.13″ year-to-date, putting us in a 1.59-inch deficit.

But, there is some refreshing news! Phoenix is actually above normal for rainfall so far this March. Through March 11 (again not including the 0.07 inches on Wednesday), March is running 0.12 inches above normal in the rainfall department.

With more rain likely on Thursday, it’s likely we build up that March rainfall surplus even more.
