See Phoenix area winners, losers of overnight rainfall totals
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Some storms rolled through parts of the Valley late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
As usual, the “winners and losers” of rainfall totals were separated by very small distances. And the rainfall totals around Phoenix last night are a perfect example of this.
Perry Park in Phoenix received a healthy 0.24 inches of rainfall Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning. Phoenix Sky Harbor is only about four miles south of Park, and the airport received nothing in the bucket!
For the Valley, parts of Phoenix and areas north of the city did the best with rainfall. The southern part of the Valley had a mix of no rain and totals of only a few hundredths of an inch.

The rainfall totals were so localized that some parts of Scottsdale received nothing, while other areas, like Thunderbird Academy, received 0.20 inches.
Because “official” Phoenix rainfall totals are kept at Sky Harbor, the storms from last night will count as a big zero. While it’s important to keep track of the official statistics at the airport, last night shows that it is also important to factor in other locations as well.
With the chance of more rain on the way for the Valley this week, expect more scattered rainfall totals to accumulate! See the latest forecast here.
