PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A second round of monsoon storms made their way to the far West Valley and East Valley Thursday evening.

Areas just west of the Loop 303 freeway got hit with rain around 6 p.m. while storms from the north made their way through parts of Mesa, Apache Junction, and Scottsdale.

A woman in the West Valley said strong winds knocked over her motorhome.

In Buckeye, a homeowner’s video captured the strong winds Thursday afternoon that blew her shingles off her roof.

Wednesday night’s storms produced up to ¾ of an inch of rain in the west Phoenix metro area and an apparent microburst with winds of 70 miles an hour or more.

Also, many areas around central Arizona received severe thunderstorm warnings at different times, while Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport received only a trace amount of rain.

Temperatures will remain above normal. There is nothing new about that this July.

Over the next seven days, we’re looking at 109-112 degree highs.
