PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Sunday’s heavy rain and wind caused big waves and trouble for boaters at Lake Pleasant.

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, 12 boats were beached or sunk around the lake. During the storm, 30 people needed to be rescued from either boats or the water.

No injuries were reported, and no other details about the damage have been released.

Sunday’s monsoon affected thousands of others as rain and wind moved across the Valley.

Arizona’s Family will continue to cover the monsoon this week. During this workweek, we will likely have at least one or two storm days in the desert.
