Lightning strike likely to blame for fire on South Mountain
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Fire officials said a lightning strike likely caused a brush fire that burned on South Mountain late Saturday.

Firefighters were called out around 9:30 p.m. to reports of a small brush fire on the mountain.
Fire crews then arrived to find flames near television antennas. At least one television station reported that the fire put them off the air temporarily late Saturday night.
Phoenix Fire spokesperson Capt. Shaun DuBois said that crews were able to keep the flames away from the antennas, but details on other possible damage weren’t released.
No injuries were reported. The fire remains under investigation.
