PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Newly obtained court documents revealed a man has been indicted after allegedly pointing a laser at an FBI aircraft earlier this year.

Records obtained by Arizona’s Family Investigates say that William Wilson was indicted by a federal grand jury this week in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona. He faces two counts of aiming a laser pointer at an aircraft,

Details surrounding the incident haven’t been released, but documents say it happened on Jan. 8 and involved “surveillance” aircraft.

Wilson’s arraignment is set for March 26 at the federal courthouse in Phoenix.

The Federal Aviation Administration says those who shine lasers at aircraft face fines of up to $11,000 per violation and $30,800 for laser incidents. Those convicted can also face up to five years in federal prison for each offense.
