Popular central Phoenix hangout, Westgate Korean BBQ spot hit with health violations

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for April 16, 2025:

Manna Westgate BBQ - 6751 N Sunset Blvd Suite E100, Glendale

3 violations

• Employee not washing hands properly
• Vegetables and noodles not documented correctly
• Boxes of food on the floor

Federico’s Mexican Food - 3730 W Happy Valley Rd #109, Glendale

3 violations:

• Cooked beef not cooling properly
• Carnitas and machaca not kept cold enough
• Fried fish and shrimp kept past discard dates

The Henry - 2 E Camelback Rd, Phoenix

3 violations:

• Mashed potatoes not cooling properly
• Salsa and corn not kept cold enough
• Pink curing salt above prep line

Persian Room - 17040 N Scottsdale Rd, Phoenix

4 violations

• Chef not washing hands for at least 20 seconds
• Chef handling raw beef, then going into walk-in cooler without washing hands
• Server handling pita bread with bare hands
• Hummus, lettuce, yogurt dressing not kept cold enough

Convenience Mart - 757 S Country Club Dr, Mesa

4 violations:

• Organic growth on pico de gallo
• Raw eggs stored above raw beef
• Worker handling phone then gloves, then raw chicken without washing hands
• No paper towels at hand wash sink
