PHOENIX (AZFamily)Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for April 9, 2025:

Thunderbird Adventist Academy - Sutton Drive and 74th Street, Scottsdale

3 violations:

  • Ready-to-eat foods not monitored
  • Green and white organic growth on bread
  • Cooked refried beans not kept at proper temperature

Charley’s Philly Steaks - 95th Avenue and Camelback, Glendale

3 violations:

  • No certified food manager
  • Employee sweeping floors then not washing hands before changing tasks
  • Chicken wings not cooling properly

The Stone House - Hampton Avenue near Power Road, Mesa

4 violations:

  • Raw eggs over noodles
  • Raw chicken over raw beef
  • Meat slicer with heavy food debris
  • Fried rice not cooling properly

Local Jonny’s - Cave Creek Road off Hidden Valley, Cave Creek

4 violations:

  • Employee cutting cucumbers without gloves on
  • Dishwasher with not enough sanitizer
  • Black beans not cooling properly
  • Pickled green beans kept past discard date

Stellar 66 - Baseline and Gilbert Road, Gilbert

8 violations:

  • No paper towels at hand sink
  • No soap at hand sink
  • BBQ rack of lamb out of temperature
  • Lamb heads and organs not purchased from approved source
  • Containers of Peking duck spice stored on floor
  • Raw ground pork above ready-to-eat foods
  • Raw eggs behind ready-to-eat chicken
  • Food debris on meat slicer
