PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for April 2, 2025:

Thai Basil - 3110 N Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85012

3 major violations

  • Case of raw beef and lettuce stored on cart in back alley
  • Bag of bean sprouts not kept cold enough
  • Milk stored in ice that’s used for beverages

Treffpunkt - 14325 N 79th St, Scottsdale, AZ 85260

3 violations

  • No certified food manager on duty
  • Chef scratched face, touched phone – then continued food service
  • Sliced ham kept past discard date

Famous 48 - 8989 N Scottsdale Rd #608, Scottsdale, AZ 85253

4 major violations

  • Dishwashing machine not cleaning properly
  • Food debris on blades of dicer
  • Pan of broccoli not cooling correctly
  • Cooked sausage/ground beef not stored cold enough

The Stone Korean Tofu House - 6910 E Hampton Ave, Mesa, AZ 85209

4 major violations

  • No certified food manager
  • Raw eggs stored over noodles
  • Heavy amount of food debris on meat slicer
  • Fried rice not held at proper temperature

La Chona Burger - 848 S Alma School Rd #4, Mesa, AZ 85210

4 major violations

  • Selling bagged machaca without inspection label
  • Raw chicken in cooler behind cooked pork
  • Salsa and flan kept past discard dates
  • Prep cooler not kept cold enough
