Raw chicken stored over raw goat meat among violations at Phoenix area eateries

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for February 26, 2025:

Hello Vietnam - 2922 Hayden Rd, Scottsdale

3 violations

• No certified food manager on duty
• Bags of raw pork stored on top of bags of raw vegetables
• Dishwasher not cleaning properly

Holiday Inn - 14255 N 87th St, Scottsdale

3 violations

• Raw eggs stored over waffle batter and vegetables
• Deli meats with no date marks
• No sanitizer in dishwashing machine

Panaderia Cristal - 6402 W Glendale Ave, Glendale

3 violations

• Employee preparing raw beef then not washing hands
• Pan of raw chicken over box of raw goat meat
• Organic matter in ice machine

Los Altos Ranch Market - 1602 E Roosevelt St, Phoenix

4 violations

• Employee not washing hands properly
• Chicken and refried beans not kept hot enough
• Salsa not kept cold enough
• Chile not labeled properly

Bak and Jo Bakery and Coffee - 2820 E University Dr UNIT 110, Mesa

4 violations

• Raw eggs stored over milk and tortillas
• Dishwasher not cleaning correctly
• Pistachio filling not kept cold enough
• Ready-to-eat foods kept past discard dates
