Not washing hands, expired dressings among violations at Phoenix area restaurants

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for February 19, 2025:

Thai Chili 2 Go - 21202 S Ellsworth Loop Road, Queen Creek

3 violations

• No food manager on duty
• Cook returned from restroom then didn’t wash hands
• 3 types of curry not cooling properly

Sage & Barrel Craft Eatery - 7215 S Power Road, Queen Creek

3 violations

• Cooks handling raw fish and raw hamburger then not washing hands
• Bacon sauce not kept hot enough
• Ranch dressing kept past discard date

First Watch - 4955 S Alma School Road, Chandler

3 violations

• Employee touched face then prepared food
• Cooked onions not kept at proper temperature
• Onions kept past discard date

Sunbird Golf Resort Restaurant - 6250 S Sunbird Blvd, Chandler

3 violations

• Eggs stored above cooked beef
• Whipped butter sitting at room temperature
• Cooked meatballs kept past the discard date

Vitality Bowls Superfood Café - 2438 S Recker Road, Gilbert

5 violations

• Toilet bowl cleaner stored above prep sink
• Employee made food without washing hands
• Cracked eggs leaking on to carton above cooked beef
• Chicken and beef not thawing properly
• Green mix salad not date marked
