Green organic matter in ice machine, chicken not date marked found at Phoenix-area restaurants

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for Nov. 20, 2024:

Atria - 101 S Yucca Street, Chandler

3 violations

• Employee handling dirty equipment then clean plates without washing up
• Cooked hamburgers not kept hot enough
• Sanitizer to clean surfaces not strong enough

Giant Coffee - Sky Harbor Airport, Phoenix

3 violations

• Food not obtained from approved source
• Brown/black/green organic matter inside ice machine
• Plumbing not working properly

El Herradero Carniceria and Restaurant - 10839 E Apache Trail, Apache Junction

3 violations

• No food manager on site
• Pork ribs with organic matter
• Raw eggs stored above green chiles

7 Garden Noodle House - 1818 W Baseline Rd, Mesa

3 violations

• Employee on cell phone then prepared cooked dumplings
• Marinated beef stored above raw eggs
• No date marks on chicken and beef

Dunkin - 764 W Broadway Rd, Tempe

3 violations

• Whipped cream not kept cold enough
• No soap at hand wash sink
• Employee working cash register then went to make breakfast sandwich
