Flies on equipment, rodent droppings on floor found at Phoenix-area restaurants
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for Oct. 2, 2024:
IHOP - 705 S Rural Rd, Tempe
3 violations
- Employee cracked egg then handled hamburger buns without washing hands
- Cut fruit and milk out of temperature
- Small flies on walls and equipment
Bootlegger’s - 7217 E 1st Street, Scottsdale
3 violations
- Employee grabbed tortillas with bare hands then put them on plate
- No soap at hand wash sink
- Observed food debris and rodent droppings on floor
Clarendale - 5900 S Gilbert Rd, Chandler
3 violations
- Worker on cookline scratched face and adjusted hair then grabbed clean plates
- Raw eggs stored above bread
- Ham and polish sausage kept past discard dates
Ono Hawaiian BBQ - 4972 S Power Road, Gilbert
4 violations
- No food manager on site
- Canned energy drink over dry ingredient bins
- SPAM and macaroni salad not kept cold enough
- Cooked chicken and beef not kept hot enough
The Grille at Lone Tree - 6262 S Mountain Blvd, Chandler
4 violations
- Employee handling dirty dishes then clean dishes
- Accumulation of food debris on deli slicer
- Cooked hot dogs and chicken wings not kept at proper temperature
- Deli meat kept past discard date
