Moldy green chile, fish stored above veggies found at Phoenix-area restaurants

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for Aug. 28, 2024:

Yoshi’s Fresh Asian Grill - 12202 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix

3 violations

• Toxic chemicals not labeled
• Sushi roll not at proper temperature
• Bag of raw chicken placed on top of ready-to-eat broccoli

Salsitas Mexican Food - 6135 N 35th Ave, Phoenix

3 violations

• Cooked menudo out of temperature
• Salsa, cheese and pork out of temperature
• Sanitizer not strong enough to clean dishes

My Kitchen - 4049 E Williams Field Road, Gilbert

3 violations

• Employee food on prep table
• No paper towels at hand wash sink
• Raw pork and fish stored above vegetables

Jimmy and Joe’s Pizzeria - 1960 W Baseline Rd, Mesa

4 violations

• Bowls for dressing wings not cleaned properly
• Tomato sauce not kept at proper temperature
• Shredded cheese not kept cold enough
• Green chile with organic growth

Kobe Ramen - 3655 W Anthem Way, Anthem

4 violations

• Raw eggs stored above ready-to-eat foods
• Dishwashing machine not cleaning properly
• Butter/garlic mix stored on table out of temperature
• Raw beef and chicken stored on cut Styrofoam
