Organic matter on ice, trash in sink among violations at Phoenix-area restaurants
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for August 6, 2024:

- Employee handled phone then food
- Mashed potatoes not kept hot enough
- Ham, ground beef, and salmon not cold enough in cooler
- Pans of chicken not date marked
Wendy’s - 1175 W Chandler Blvd - Chandler
4 violations
- Employee touching fries with bare hands
- Grilled chicken not re-heated properly
- Box of sanitizer over single service containers
- Grilled chicken not at proper temperature
Carniceria Los Amigos - 6102 E Main Street, Mesa
5 violations
- Raw eggs stored over bread
- Meat left on meat slicer blade
- Hot dogs wrapped in bacon not at proper temperature
- Carne asada not stored at proper temperature
- Meat left under cutting board tables
