Fuzzy growth on fruit, dead pests among violations found at Phoenix-area restaurants

PHOENIX (AZFamily)Every week, Arizona’s Family looks up restaurants recently inspected by Maricopa County’s Environmental Services Department. Restaurants with some of the highest numbers of “risk factors,” considered major health code violations by inspectors, are selected for our Dirty Dining Report. Here are the Valley restaurants that did not make the grade for July 31, 2024:

Motomoto Sushi & Izakaya - 15 E Monroe Street - Phoenix

3 violations

  • Opened can of peaches with fuzzy, green/black organic growth
  • Raw chicken stored over raw fish
  • Several dead pests throughout establishment

Mirador Mexican and Seafood - 743 S Lindsay Road - Gilbert

3 violations

  • Raw beef stored above cooked chicken
  • Dishwasher not cleaning properly
  • Cheese and sour cream out of temperature
