Phoenix Mercury announces official name for practice facility

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Phoenix Mercury announced on Wednesday a sponsorship and an official name for its 9-month-old practice facility.
The franchise is teaming up with Mountain America Credit Union in a multi-year naming rights deal for the state-of-the-art practice facility. It’ll be called the Mountain America Performance Center. Mountain America Credit Union has been the official credit union of the Phoenix Mercury since 2023.
The credit union is also partnering with the Phoenix Suns/Phoenix Mercury Foundation to support the Jr. Mercury Legacy League, the first-of-its-kind all-girls youth basketball league in Arizona. The Mountain America logo will be on Legacy League uniforms and the credit union will fund a scholarship program to create opportunities for more girls to play in the league.
“Expanding the Mercury’s partnership with Mountain America through this historic investment demonstrates our shared commitment to elevate women’s sports,” said Phoenix Mercury and Phoenix Suns chief executive officer Josh Bartelstein. “From adding Mountain America’s name to the Mercury’s world-class facility to their support of the Jr. Mercury Legacy League, this partnership focuses on empowering female athletes and growing women’s basketball at all levels.”
Mountain America Performance Center is a 58,000-square-foot facility that opened in July. It features two full-sized basketball courts named after recently retired and Mercury legend Diana Taurasi, strength and cardio areas, a film room and a player lounge with a dedicated chef. The U.S. Olympic team was the first team to train at the facility.
