Arizona Wildcats land second 5-star recruit of 2025 class
TUCSON, AZ (AZFamily) — Only about two weeks after Valley high school basketball phenom Koa Peat verbally committed to play for the University of Arizona, the Wildcats have landed another top recruit.
Five-star guard Brayden Burries verbally committed to U of A live on ESPN’s SportsCenter on Wednesday morning. He’s listed as the No. 11 recruit in the national ESPN 100 rankings.
Burries is 6-foot-4, 185 pounds and comes to Tucson from Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Riverside, Calif.
He chose coach Tommy Lloyd and the Wildcats over Alabama, Oregon, USC and Tennessee.
Burries participated in the 2025 McDonald’s All-American Game along with Koa Peat, who committed to Arizona last month. Peat, out of Perry High School in Gilbert, is the No. 9 recruit in ESPN’s rankings.
The two five-star recruits are now set join four-star recruits Dwayne Aristode, ESPN’s No. 38 overall recruit, and Bryce James, the youngest son of NBA superstar LeBron James, on Arizona’s roster next year.
