PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Arizona Cardinals are keeping their Pro-Bowler tight end, reportedly making him the highest-paid tight end in NFL history.

According to ESPN Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the team extended Trey McBride to a four-year, $76 million deal. Schefter says the deal includes $43 million guaranteed and $19 million average per year, the highest ever for any NFL tight end.

While just being in the NFL for three seasons, McBride has established himself as one of the most consistent tight ends in the league. In three seasons, the 25-year-old has recorded over 2,200 yards and six touchdowns.

Last season was McBride’s breakout year. He finished second among NFL tight ends in both receptions and receiving yards, only trailing Brock Bowers with the Las Vegas Raiders.

McBride’s success spans off the field as well. He was named the Cardinals’ Walter Payton Man of the Year in 2024, an award given to a player who demonstrates outstanding community service. He has hosted charity events and gives back to children in Arizona and his home state of Colorado.
