PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Each year during the Final Four, the NCAA tries to do Something Good in its host cities. This year, the NCAA is giving back to Phoenix and upgrading courts and amenities at a Valley center.
This week, the NCAA unveiled a legacy project at Eastlake Community Center near downtown Phoenix. The project includes refurbished indoor and outdoor courts and a mural celebrating the center’s creators.
Gov. Katie Hobbs says this is one of many ways hosting the Final Four enhances Arizona. The 2024 Men’s Final Four will provide a global stage to showcase Arizona’s spectacular deserts, iconic tourist destinations, vibrant cities, pro-business environment and friendly people,” the governor said. “I know that we will take advantage of this incredible platform and show that Arizona is the top destination for major sporting events.”
Kids were already busy testing the new courts alongside Sparky and the Arizona State University pep band!
