PHOENIX (AZFamily) — More than 700,000 people will be in and out of TPC Scottsdale this week for the WM Phoenix Open.

That’s a lot of fans and cars trying to get in and out of the area around the course.

But organizers have parking down to a science.

The grass lots next to the course are open this year after being flooded and shut down last year. A special pass is required for this area.

If you don’t have one, you’ll be in general parking where you’re encouraged to use gravel lots a little farther away.

Most fans will be coming to the tournament on the Loop 101. General parking is mostly northeast of the freeway at Westworld.

If you’re coming in from the West Valley, exit at Frank Lloyd Wright, then go north to Bell and follow the signs to lots A, B, and C.

If you’re driving in from the East Valley, take the Bell exit and then follow the signs.

Parking is free and there will be free shuttles operating on all days to get you to and from the main gate.

You can also avoid the whole traffic mess close to the course and park farther down the 101 at Salt River Fields, the spring home of the Diamondbacks.

Those lots are open Wednesday through Sunday with shuttle service from 9 to 6 each day.

Want to leave the driving to someone else? There is a special rideshare lot, called Lot R, at the Bell-94 sports complex, just off the Loop 101 and Bell. There is also a shuttle service available for the rideshare lot.

If you’re planning on going to the Bird’s Nest, you’ll want to park in lots A, B, or C at Westworld. Those shuttles run until 11 at night so you can still get out after the show. Or, you use the rideshare lot, especially if you’re planning on drinking.
