Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill among 8 inducted into Arizona Sports Hall of Fame
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Arizona Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill joins legendary company as the newest member of the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame.
On Thursday, officials with the Arizona Sports and Entertainment Commission announced the eight-member Hall of Fame class for 2024-2025. Bidwill joins retired Arizona sports greats and managers in this year’s class, including:
- Melissa Belote Ripley - Olympic and Arizona State swimmer
- Mike Bibby - University of Arizona basketball player
- Julie Ertz - U.S. Women’s soccer star and Mesa native
- Joe Garagiola Jr. - Arizona Diamondbacks GM between 1997–2005
- Ricky Hunley - NFL linebacker and University of Arizona football standout
- Paul Konerko - MLB first baseman and Scottsdale high school star
- Matt Shott - former Senior Director of Amateur Hockey Development for the Arizona Coyotes
Bidwill becomes the sixth member of the Cardinals organization to be elected to the hall of fame, joining Larry Fitzgerald, Pat Tillman, Adrian Wilson, Jake Plummer and his father, Bill Bidwill.

He has been at the helm of the Cardinals organization since his father’s death in 2019. He continues the Bidwill family ownership of the team that began when his grandfather, Charles Bidwill, purchased the team in 1933.
Bidwill also played a central role in creating State Farm Stadium, which has hosted three Super Bowls since its opening.
This year’s Arizona Sports Hall of Fame class will be honored at an induction ceremony on April 10 at Chateau Luxe in Phoenix.
