PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Phoenix Suns fans got to celebrate another historic moment at the Footprint Center on Tuesday night.

Suns forward Kevin Durant became the eighth player in NBA history to reach 30,000 points in his career.

He reached the milestone by hitting a second free throw with 1:11 remaining in the third quarter.

Durant is now part of an exclusive club with only seven other members. They are LeBron James, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Dirk Nowitzki and Wilt Chamberlain.

Only James is still active in the NBA and he has the most points with 41,623 and counting.

The rest are in the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Durant was 26 points shy of the 30,000-point mark heading into Tuesday night’s game against the Grizzlies.

Durant was selected No. 2 overall in the 2007 NBA Draft and considered one of the best offensive players of all time, averaging 27.2 points per game on 50.1% shooting.

He has won four scoring titles, which is third all-time behind Jordan and Chamberlain.
