PHOENIX (AZFamily) — One Arizona State fan is taking “Forks Up” to a whole new level!

With the Peach Bowl less than a week away, die-hard ASU fan Tim Gomez is combining his love for the team with his hobby. He built a custom ASU pitchfork entirely out of Legos!

The lifelong Lego fanatic debuted his custom pitchfork during Homecoming 2024.

“It is absolutely one of my favorite builds to date,” he posted on his Instagram. “One of the best days ever in this #SunDevil life.”

The five-foot pitchfork is made from 2,500 Lego pieces and countless hours of building.

“It took about a month for design, from being in my head to being something I could take out on the street,” Gomez explained. “It takes a long time. Now I can build one and easily one Saturday, but when you’re designing it from the the ground floor up, it takes a little bit because as you’re designing, things work, things don’t work, things look better in your head than they do in real life. Then with Lego, they’re measured down to the millimeter. So even one change here can kind of cascade everything.”

So, what’s the number one skill Gomez says to help adults who want to try their hand at Lego building?

“...Just tenacity. Just keep going after it. That’s a skill set that’s hard to understand when you’re young is to keep going after it. Because this is the final product, but all the other products sucked before it. You can see all the ones that broke. And it’s just hard; it’s hard to persevere through all that,” he said.

Gomez’s stunning masterpiece will be displayed at an upcoming ASU basketball game, so stay tuned!

The Sun Devils will look to wrangle the Texas Longhorns on New Year’s Day. It’s been a Cinderella story for the Sun Devils, who secured their spot in the College Football Playoff by winning the Big 12 Championship over Iowa State.

The Peach Bowl will kick off at 11 a.m. next Wednesday in Atlanta, Georgia.
