PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- Gas stations, restaurants, hotels: Most of us just don’t pay with cash at these establishments. We use credit cards, and credit card companies love it. Why? Because they make nearly 150 billion dollars a year in merchant fees. These fees are paid by businesses for the benefit of accepting cards.
