PHOENIX (AZFamily) — If you have kids who play sports, you know how important athletic trainers are to keep them healthy and feeling supported. So it’s something good when one of them gets recognized for their passion.
Meet Ian Jeffer, the head athletic trainer at Desert Ridge High School in Mesa. He was just named the nationwide winner of the fifth annual Henry Schein Athletics and Schools Rising Star Award, which celebrates emerging athletic trainers in the sports medicine industry.
Jeffer was recognized for providing “exceptional care” to Desert Ridge students and for managing a student sports medicine club that inspires future athletic trainers. He also works with junior high and elementary schools to spread joy and excitement for the profession.
Check out the video above as Jeffer describes his work and the national recognition.
