PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Spring is on its way, and one Valley nonprofit wants to help you “swing” into the season!

The Singletons, a nonprofit that helps single-parent families through cancer battles, is hosting its 5th Annual Swing Into Spring event! Guests can indulge in mouthwatering meals from talented chefs, sip on cocktails and participate in a live auction — all while supporting families facing challenges from cancer.

“We call it a culinary social. So chefs from around the Valley will be there to have chef stations and have some bites. And then we’re also going to be sharing the stories of some of our families that we support so people understand the “why” of our mission and that they can see how impactful they can be by supporting our families,” said Jody Boyd, CEO and founder of The Singletons.

The Singletons support single moms and dads of young children who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis and treatment. The organization also provides families with prepared meals and essentials, such as toiletries and paper towels.

“Our whole mission is to just walk alongside these families while they’re going through their cancer journey, and then help them with their homes. You know, restock their homes with essential supplies. Make sure that they have meal kits so that they can sit down and have a nice dinner, and just really be there emotionally for them as well so that they know that they’re not alone during this really scary time,” Boyd explained.

Volunteers are always needed for the nonprofit, especially in their kitchen. The organization is located near 28th Street and Bell Road. Learn how you can volunteer.

The event will be held on Saturday, March 22, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Buy your tickets today.
