Family-owned Phoenix-area ice cream shop creates unique, tasty flavors
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Scooptacular, a beloved family-owned business, was founded 14 years ago by Nindi and Carissa Wadhwa with a heartfelt mission: to be a beacon of hope in their community.
From the beginning, they infused their ice cream shop with warmth and joy, creating a welcoming space for families and friends to gather. Their first location is in Laveen at Baseline and 51st Avenue, and they just opened a second location in Arcadia at Indian School Road and 48th Street.
The Wadhwas say they love food, they wanted to own their own business, and Nindi wanted a place for great daddy-daughter dates. Hence, Scooptacular was born!
The family makes all of its own ice cream using high-quality ingredients to create unique flavors like Abuelita, a dark chocolate ice cream with spices and turbinado sugar; Camelback Crunch, a brown sugar ice cream with praline crumples and dark chocolate shavings; and Escape, a reference to the famous piña colada song, a vegan coconut-pineapple ice cream made with coconut milk.
They also make some flavors to try for the holidays. For Thanksgiving, they are offering turkey, hatch sweet corn, pumpkin pie and gingersnap cheesecake.
Scooptacular creates delicious hand-crafted ice cream by the cone, cup, pint or quart and sells cookie sammies, ice cream cakes, and puppy ice cream.
As the years passed, Scooptacular became more than just a dessert destination; it transformed into a hub for community events and support. The Scooptacular team has dedicated themselves to uplifting those in need, organizing fundraisers, and supporting local schools and churches.
Today, Scooptacular stands as a testament to their unwavering commitment to scooping kindness into communities.
