Football and engineering, teen has variety of interests
GILBERT, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) — Larry is a big kid with a big curiosity. He loves football, and with his size, you would not want to be on the other end of his hits. This 13-year-old is 6 feet tall and growing! Football is life right now, and his high school team recently went to the state championships.
“The group home I was at, they were like, ‘ya, go!’” Larry said, describing the excitement of the playoffs. Other than serving up hits on the field, Larry said he likes engineering and could see that as a career one day.
“I want to be an engineer,” he said. “But I am going to try football.”
As far as adoption goes, he said he would do well in a small family that is active. Larry is a big fan of dogs but not so much cats.
He said life is not always easy living in group homes. “It’s pretty tough,” he said. He added that life with a loving and supportive family would be good for him.
“I would love to feel like I could just relax,” he said.
Larry did warn, in a joking way, that the home that does become his own better be ready for him. “I’m a giant,” he said with a smile. “So they are going to have to provide for a kid who has size 14 shoes.”
