PARADISE VALLEY, AZ (AZFamily) — A Paradise Valley boy raising money for a local animal rescue got the surprise of a lifetime when Devin Booker stopped by his snack stand to make a donation, and that’s Something Good.
A recent viral video shows the Suns star pulling over and exiting his car to stop by 9-year-old Eli’s snack stand. Eli was selling snacks and drinks to raise money for the Almost There Rescue, which helps mama dogs and their pups.
Booker, wearing sunglasses and a beanie, bought some of Eli’s dehydrated banana chips and an orange Gatorade and handed Eli $200. “Whoa! Thank you!” Eli yelled.
Booker then gets into his car, and Eli can be heard yelling, “Are you Devin Booker?” “Yep”, the NBA star responds.

Eli tells Booker he’s his biggest fan, and Booker says, “Keep doing what you’re doing.” Eli then runs back to the snack stand and is seen jumping up and down in excitement—truly a special moment.
Eli’s mother said the Almost There rescue received more calls and donations after the viral video.
Eli told Arizona’s Family he was shocked when he realized it was Booker who stopped by his snack stand.
He says the experience has inspired him to do more good things and that something good might happen in return. “It makes me happy to help a shelter, like help people and pets.”
