(Gray News) – The “Harry Potter” TV series set to air on HBO has announced a handful of actors who will play major roles.

On Monday, HBO announced that John Lithgow would play Albus Dumbledore and that Janet McTeer would play Minerva McGonagall.

Nick Frost is taking the role of Rubeus Hagrid while Paapa Essiedu will play Severus Snape.

Entertainment outlets like Deadline previously reported the rumored roles, but HBO confirmed them Monday.

Officials say the show will be a “true adaptation” of the “Harry Potter” book series and will run for 10 consecutive years.

It will air on HBO and be streamed on Max.

A release date has not yet been announced.
