Alaska Airlines flight bound for Phoenix experiences severe turbulence
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — An Alaska Airlines flight to Phoenix experienced severe turbulence that sent several people to the hospital on Thursday.
At 2:30 p.m., Alaska Airlines Flight 700 from Seattle encountered serious turbulence while en route to Phoenix.
Medical professionals waited at the Phoenix gate for the flight to arrive. Alaska Airlines said several crew members and one guest received medical attention.
The sole passenger was not taken to the hospital, but a few crew members were, the airline told Arizona’s Family.
Alaska Airlines made national headlines this week after a passenger onboard a flight arriving in Seattle opened the emergency exit door and climbed onto the aircraft’s wing. The passenger was ultimately sent to the hospital but no injuries were reported.
