PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Arizona State football team is heading to Atlanta, Georgia, to play in the Peach Bowl for the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff.

ASU will take on either Clemson or Texas on Jan. 1 at 1 p.m. EST at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Seth Deitchman is an ASU alum who lives in metro Atlanta and the past president of the ASU Alumni Georgia Chapter. Arizona’s Family asked him what Sun Devils fans who fly in for the game can expect at the airport and how he would recommend getting around town.

“Expect it to be busy. It’s the busiest airport in the world. It’s easy to navigate the airport at least. Then just plan on taking MARTA, which I think is a great way of transportation. It’s kind of the subway without being underground. So that’s a great resource; Uber of course, is awesome. Lots of traffic otherwise if you decide to get a rental car. There’s lots of traffic here,” said Deitchman.

Tickets for the Peach Bowl can be reserved here through ASU or purchased on secondary markets.

Currently, most flights cost between $500 and $700. If those prices scare you away, it is about a 26-hour drive. However, it is important to factor holiday traffic into your trip.

Arizona’s Family asked Deitchman what areas in Atlanta he would recommend fans try and stay if they come for the game.

“The place that people like to go is probably an area called Buckhead, also Midtown are two great areas. So the stadium is downtown and it’s really built up a lot in the past few years there’s definitely stuff to do. Not as much stuff as Midtown, not as much stuff as Buckhead,” explained Deitchman.

Deitchman says he expects there to be ASU Alumni events the night before the game and that morning, but those plans have not been finalized yet.

There are some events through the Peach Bowl that have already been scheduled around the game on New Year’s Day.
