Hidden hazard causes some crunchy snacks to test positive for lead

A new Consumer Reports investigation found gluten-free and paleo products that had a root vegetable called cassava tested positive for concerning levels of lead. Consumer Reports tested 27 popular cassava items and found that over two-thirds contained concerning levels of lead. Consumer Reports found that four cassava products currently on the market had such high levels of lead that they advise avoiding those products entirely.
