Man critically injured after overnight house fire in Phoenix
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is in the hospital with serious injures after a house fire overnight in the Maryvale area of Phoenix.
Firefighters responded to the reported house fire around 2 a.m. near 91st Avenue and Osborn Road. When they arrived at the scene, heavy smoke and fire were billowing from the house.
Fire crews were eventually able to extinguish the fire. As they were fighting the blaze, first responders found a man inside the home and had to carry him outside.
The man was taken to the hospital in “extremely critical condition,” Phoenix Fire Captain DJ Lee said. Three other people got out of the house on their own and were evaluated at the scene; one of them was hospitalized for minor burn injuries.
The cause of this fire is still under investigation. No firefighters were injured.
