PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The prosecution has rested and the defense intends to do the same in the trial against Lori Vallow Daybell, who’s accused of conspiring with her brother to kill her then-husband Charles Vallow nearly six years ago in Chandler.

The state rested around 4 p.m. on Wednesday following the testimony of a Chandler police detective. Moments later, Vallow Daybell, who is representing herself in the case, said she intends to rest without calling any witnesses. However, she could still testify on Monday when closing arguments are set to be presented.

Court is now in recess for the rest of the day and is expected to meet Thursday morning to finalize jury instructions, depending on the status of the defense.

Wednesday was the seventh day of the trial against the 51-year-old so-called “Doomsday Mom,” who’s already been convicted of killing her two young children and conspiring to kill a romantic rival in Idaho.

In this case, she’s accused of conspiring with her now-deceased brother, Alex Cox, to kill Charles Vallow in 2019 so she could collect money from his life insurance policy and marry Chad Daybell.
