PHOENIX (AZFamily) — We may learn as soon as Thursday whether Lori Vallow is competent to stand trial for murder in Maricopa County.

The so-called doomsday cult mom is already serving life in prison for the deaths of her two children, 16-year-old Tylee Ryan and 7-year-old JJ Vallow.

She is now facing trial for first-degree murder for the death of her ex-husband in Chandler back in 2019 and attempted murder charges for her ex’s nephew, Brandon Boudreaux.

Lori Vallow has shown some bizarre behavior, insisting on representing herself and then she refused to show up in court.

She was already convicted of murdering two of her children in Idaho, but now she is charged with orchestrating the murder of Charles Vallow, her husband, back in 2019.

Lori Vallow’s brother, Alex Cox, shot him to death in June 2019 in their Chandler rental home and claimed self-defense.

He died a few months later due to blood clots.

In November 2019, Lori Vallow married doomsday author Chad Daybell, weeks after his wife, Tammy Daybell, died in her sleep.

The couple took Tylee and JJ Vallow to Idaho, where their bodies were found buried on Chad Daybell’s property in June 2020.

Chad was sentenced to death for the murders of Tammy and Lori Vallow’s children.

Lori Vallow’s mental health was an issue in Idaho, but she was eventually found competent to stand trial there.

On Thursday, a mental health expert is expected to submit to a judge in Phoenix the second of two required mental evaluations, which will determine whether she stands trial next year or is committed to a mental hospital for treatment.

It is possible that the mental health evaluation will not be released on Thursday.

The judge may take it under advisement.

Lori Vallow’s trial is tentatively set to begin on Feb. 24, 2025.
