PHOENIX (AZFamily) — “Doomsday” mom Lori Vallow Daybell returned to an Arizona courtroom one week after failing to attend her original Maricopa County Superior Court hearing.

Wednesday’s discussion focused on Vallow’s mental fitness to stand trial. Both sides and the judge eventually agreed that Vallow would have another competency hearing with a different evaluator.

She was convicted in Idaho last year for the deaths of her two children, JJ and Tylee, and her fifth husband’s previous wife. Now, she’s facing more charges in two Arizona cases.

In her Idaho trial, Vallow was initially ruled incompetent and ordered to receive treatment. She was later determined to be mentally fit, was convicted and sentenced to life in prison.

Vallow currently faces conspiracy charges in Arizona for orchestrating the murder of her fourth husband and her niece’s husband.

Her next court date is set for Dec. 5. Her original trial date of February 2025 was vacated last month.
