PHOENIX (AZFamily) — May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and there are events in Arizona where you can experience and learn about these different cultures.

Phoenix

D-Backs Asian Heritage Celebration Series

The Arizona Diamondbacks are hosting the D-Backs Asian Heritage Celebration Series, which features special event tickets, merchandise, cultural entertainment, ceremonies, and recognitions. The series began with the Korean Heritage Celebration on April 26.

Phoenix Mercury AAPI Night

Tickets are on sale for the Phoenix Mercury’s first AAPI night on Friday, May 30, against the Minnesota Lynx.

OCA Film Festival

The OCA Greater Phoenix Chapter is hosting a film festival featuring movies highlighting Asian American and Pacific Islander voices, stories, and creativity. The event is on May 17 at the Harkins Theater near Shea Boulevard and Scottsdale Road. Tickets are available here.

Phoenix Metro Night Market

This Asian Food Festival highlights local food, anime and retail vendors and allows small businesses to showcase their culture through food. It is free to attend and will be held on Saturday, May 10, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the AZ International Marketplace Plaza parking lot in Mesa. Click/tap here for more information.

Tucson

Tucson Asian Night Market

The first-ever Tucson Asian Night Market will be held on May 10 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center. The event will feature food, entertainment and performances from different Asian and Polynesian cultures.
