PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Several Valley schools are being recognized for their efforts to teach students healthy eating habits and get kids cooking! These schools are receiving grants to support their programs, and that is Something Good.

The Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation selected three Valley schools to receive $10,000 each as part of the company’s Get Kids Cooking grants. The schools are:

  • Haley Elementary School in Chandler
  • Catalina Ventura School in Phoenix
  • Copper Canyon Elementary School in Scottsdale

The money will help schools keep children cooking and provide nutrition programs on campus. Haley Elementary School has a school garden program that combines gardening and cooking skills. In addition, all 500 students at Catalina Ventura will now be able to participate in a student-led cooking program, thanks to the grant.

Each year, the foundation awards schools across the nation grants totaling $250,000. Congratulations to Sprouts and these schools!
