GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Police have released the name of a driver who was killed in a two-vehicle collision late last week in Glendale.

Glendale police officers responded to the crash around 6:45 a.m. last Friday at Glendale Avenue and Glen Harbor Boulevard. There, they found a crash involving a sedan and a pickup truck.

The driver of the car, 43-year-old Yordanis Reynier Pernia Diaz, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Police say Pernia Diaz was eastbound on Glendale Avenue when he failed to stop at a red light and hit the pickup. The Ford Focus he was driving then collided with a utility pole.

Glendale police have ruled out impairment as a possible factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
