Nonprofit partners with Phoenix PD to help get dogs adopted
PHOENIX (AZFamily) —Are you looking for a new furry friend to be part of your family?
On Saturday, the Police and Paws Project is holding its yearly adoption event at the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control Center’s West Valley shelter near 35th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.
The nonprofit will sponsor the adoption fees for 200 dogs. In addition, the Police and Paws Project will partner with the Phoenix Police Department. The department’s officers will walk the dogs and engage with the community.
“It’s a great way to interact with the community and being a part of our neighborhood,” Phoenix Police Sgt. Alex Ruiz. “Hoping to see people come out and check out all the dogs that they have. The dogs are wonderful, and hopefully, they find a new family member.”
