PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A country superstar made a stop in the Valley of the Sun to give back to a local animal rescue.

Grammy-winning country star Miranda Lambert made a special stop at the Arizona Humane Society on Wednesday. Lambert cuddled with tons of shelter animals and donated toys to all the pups through her nonprofit organization, MuttNation.

The singer was joined by her friend and fellow animal lover Caitlin Oponski Luca. The two have worked on animal rescue efforts across the country.

Lambert and her mother Bev founded MuttNation to focus on giving back and helping shelter pets nationwide. Since its founding in 2009, the nonprofit has raised over $9 million and promotes the adoption of shelter pets.

“You are welcome back anytime! We appreciate you two using your platform for a good cause,” the Humane Society posted on its Instagram story.

Lambert also has a special line of pet toys and supplies that benefits the foundation.
