FLAGSTAFF, AZ (AZFamily) — Arizona’s snowy weather has led to closures in the northern part of the state.

State Route 260 is shut down between the Hunter Creek area and State Route 277, roughly 27 miles, because of the weather conditions, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.

Earlier in the day, Interstate 40 was briefly shut down in both directions near Flagstaff due to weather conditions.

As of 11:50 a.m., ADOT reports that the right lanes of eastbound travel are closed at milepost 185 near Hughes Avenue, while the right lanes of westbound travel are shut down at milepost 191 near Route 66. There is no estimated time of reopening.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, troopers have responded to multiple slide-offs and other weather-related calls along that stretch of interstate. Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
