Authorities identify victims in Yuma double homicide; 3rd person also shot

YUMA, AZ (AZFamily) — New details, including the names of the victims, have been released regarding a recent double homicide investigation in Yuma.

On Tuesday, the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office identified the victims who were shot to death as 52-year-old Jose Martinez of Yuma and 48-year-old Jose Guevara of Somerton, Arizona. YCSO also revealed that a third man was also shot, drove himself to the hospital, where they are currently in stable condition.

YCSO deputies went to the area of Wall Lane and Somerton Avenue after dispatchers received a call with a “silent open line” on Saturday. There, they found Martinez and Guevara, who had been shot. The men died at the scene, and a homicide investigation began.

YCSO says there are no suspects in custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
