Man shot, killed during ‘domestic dispute’ in Yuma
YUMA, AZ (AZFamily) — A man is dead after he was shot early Thursday morning in what Yuma police are calling a “domestic dispute.”
The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded around 3:30 a.m. to the reported domestic situation at a home on Del Verde Drive, north of Interstate 8. While they were headed to the scene, shots were reported to be fired inside the home.
When YCSO deputies arrived at the scene, they found a man who was unresponsive after he had been shot.
Deputies and Rural Metro firefighters attempted to perform life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim has been identified as 38-year-old Anthony Morgan Herrera from Yuma.
YCSO’s Criminal Investigations Bureau has taken over this ongoing investigation. No information about the suspect has been released.
