The measles outbreak could last for a year, according to experts

(CNN) – Measles is now spreading in three states.
As of Tuesday, there are more than 300 cases of measles confirmed in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico.
This number comes as additional cases are being investigated since Friday.
Texas has the majority, and the director of Lubbock Public Health fears this could be a yearlong concern.
Most of those infected were either unvaccinated or had an unknown vaccination status.
Officials said 38 patients were hospitalized.
One death has been linked to the outbreak.
