Young girl dies after crash on Loop 202 in Chandler
CHANDLER, AZ (AZFamily) — A young girl has died following a crash on the Loop 202 in Chandler on Thursday morning.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the four-vehicle crash happened in the eastbound lanes of the 202 (Santan Freeway) near Kyrene Road. DPS says rescue crews pulled a child and one other person from the wreckage.
The 8-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where DPS has confirmed she has since died. No other injuries were reported.
The impacted lanes of the 202, as well as the eastbound and westbound Kyrene off-ramps, reopened shortly after 12:30 p.m.
